Mike Gooley often goes as the "seabird specialist" on C.O.R.E.’s offshore research trips. He has been whale-watching and pelagic birding actively since 1980. His broad interest in the oceans includes marine geology, physical & biological oceanography, and, of course, seabirds and marine mammals. Mike holds a B.S. degree in biology from Worcester State College and earns a living as a Grants Administrator in the Chemistry Department at Boston University. He lives in Marlborough, Massachusetts with his wife Toby (a fellow birder he met on a whale-watching trip) and daughter Dana.
