CORE's mission is to promote stewardship and conservation of cetaceans and their marine environment. An important part of our mission is education. CORE offers whale and marine life presentations ranging from one hour to six hours for students of all ages.

We have a wide variety of media for presentation, primarily in the form of slides (with accompanying audience interaction), audio, video and hands-on artifacts including bones, whale baleen and plankton samples. We also offer a large variety of activities that involve student participation such as a life-sized inflatable whale (your students can actually go inside the whale!), as well as smaller in-class projects like marine-related puzzles, word-searches, etc. We can also provide presentations on the Internet and where to go for information, if your school has the technology available.

All presentations are given by CORE staff researchers who spend 6-7 months of the year in the field with whales, and who have extensive experience with students of all ages and public speaking. Our fee is $125 for an hour-long presentation, plus expenses. Our visit includes a complimentary year-long whale adoption of a humpback whale for your group or classroom. Find out more about our whale adoption program HERE!

If you are interested in arranging a speaking engagement or have any questions, please feel free to contact the CORE office by e-mail at core@coreresearch.org. If you would like to learn more about CORE's research and programs, please explore our website!

Please feel free to post this or pass it along to anyone that might be interested in our programs!
